Melvin Richardson, the Executive Director as well as a recovering alcohol and drug abuser, started the Serenity House/Serenity Care, Inc., April 1, 1996 for men with substance abuse problems. His desire to assist men with these problems came from his own experience and hard learned lessons. Mr. Richardson’s story entail’s being shot, homeless and living on the streets from time to time through out his life. Eventually, he received an opportunity to work a 12-step program. Since then, he has become a very productive support system to over 1000 men. This accomplishment happened when his dreams materialized into what we now call Serenity Care, Inc. Mr. Richardson brings years of his own personal recovery experience and the valued support of a good friend Mr. Billy Lyon. Mr. Lyon has helped tremendously with leasing several of his properties for the support of Serenity Care, Inc., to ensure its success. More About Melvin Richardson, "Our Director"
